i call them alpörten. alps for short
a mix of this meaning "nightmare" and gehörnten which means "horned". its a concentrated version of the full sentence: gehörnten Alptraum

• they get their power from a sacred hat. they sit around in and circle and take turns holding it or wearing it. this is called, the great touch. its made of needle felted fur and is very soft. this is like a bonding time for them. harnessing this power takes the place of sleeping.
  
  
• to feed, they climb onto a human while they are asleep and sit thier asses down on thier chests. as they harness the energy lost from the victim, the human slowly suffocates and due to sleep paralysis the creatures cause, nothing can be done until they are dead.
